What data we process

Your account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name that service shares. The details of each emergency profile you create: name, photo, allergies, conditions, condition notes, medications, blood type, emergency contacts and doctor. This is health data, which data protection law treats as a special category of personal data.

What we use it for

Only to show the emergency profile to whoever scans the profile's QR code, and to let you manage it. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising and we do not track you.

Legal basis

Your explicit consent, which you give when you create each profile (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 9(2)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation). If you create a profile for a person in your care, you give that consent on their behalf. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the profile or your account.

Who can see the profile

Anyone with the QR code or its link always sees the name and photo. By default the allergies, conditions, medications, blood type and the name and phone number of your emergency contacts are also shown. Condition notes, your contacts' relationship to you and the doctor are hidden unless you turn them on. You can change all of this in the app (Profile → What the QR code shows). What you hide is visible only to you.

Where it is stored

On servers located in the European Union (Germany), operated by our hosting provider as a processor on our behalf.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. If you delete a profile, its public page stops being shown immediately, but its information is kept in your account until you delete your account or ask us to erase it. If you delete your account, we erase your profiles, their public pages and their photos.

Your rights

You can access, correct, erase and restrict the processing of your data, object to it, and ask for a portable copy. You can edit profiles in the app. Deleting a profile hides its page; its data is kept until you delete your account. To erase everything, go to Account → Delete account. For the erasure of one specific profile, or any other request, email support@maghealth.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or with your local supervisory authority.
